Canadian and pink-footed geese

Jane took this photo of Canada geese, behind the Science and Industry Museum, on yesterday's sunrise walk:

This made me think of the pink-footed geese at Martin Mere in Lancashire (see youtube video below). This year, record numbers have landed there on their way from Iceland and Greenland to the south and east of England.  The Lancashire wetlands now receive about 100,000 pink-feet, 25% of the Icelandic population.
