April Full Moon - Sunrise Walk

We saw sunrise at 6:24 a.m. today, Good Friday, April 6th 2012. Traditionally, the April full moon is known as the "Pink Moon," supposedly as a tribute to the grass pink or wild ground phlox, considered one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other monikers include Full Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon and, among coastal Native American tribes, Full Fish Moon, for when the shad came upstream to spawn. Here are three photos from this morning's sunrise walk:
