The Fox and the Penguin

Two interesting wildlife articles on today's BBC website.  One about the largest fox ever to be captured in the UK. It was shot after attacking lambs on an Aberdeenshire farm, and it weighed 38lbs 1oz (17.2kg) and was 4ft 9in (1.4m) from nose to the tip of its tail. On average the animals tend to weigh up to about 15lbs (6.8kg) so this was a MEGA fox. The Celts believed the fox to be a guide, and it was honored for its wisdom. The Celts understood the fox knows the woods intimately, and they would rely upon the fox as their guide in the spirit world.

The second BBC article is about an aquarium in Tokyo trying to locate an escaped penguin seen heading for Tokyo Bay:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-17254650

The penguin is a symbol of agility, drive, and purpose. Penguin medicine teaches the ability to move freely between realities and situations, and to replace chaos with order.

This made me think of Feathers McGraw in the Wallis & Gromit animated short films. Feathers McGraw was a silent, sinister, penguin that first appeared in the film The Wrong Trousers. He was a notorious criminal mastermind and bird of many faces - long thought to be a chicken due to his disguise kit!
