Robin and Lioness videos

This is a cute video from my father's village in England -- a robin redbreast is hand fed and then feeds his mate! There is an old British folk tale that says the red on the English Robin came from a drop of the blood of Christ, when the robin sang to Christ on the cross in order to comfort him. Alternatively the breast became scorched taking water to the condemned in Hell. The Robin has an old association with Thor and with storms and was probably adopted into Christian tradition because of it.

More info. on the European robin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Robin

The British subspecies,
Erithacus rubecula melophilus,
differs only slightly from Continental birds.

And below is the latest YouTube video to go viral. Apparently this video of a lioness trying to eat a baby dressed as a zebra was shot at Oregon Zoo! The lioness named Kya was going after what she thought was a tasty baby zebra but the zebra was in fact a one-year old boy named Jack who was wearing a black and white striped hoodie. Luckily there was a glass wall between them....
