Went to St. Louis last weekend -- to see the Orchid Show (featuring 800 orchids) at the Missouri Botanical Garden, located on a 79 acre site in St. Louis, and  world-renowned for its fundamental botanical research and horticultural displays. There are nearly 22,000 types of orchids and they grow in nearly every climate on earth save deserts and glaciers. There are hundreds of societies and clubs worldwide dedicated to the study and cultivation of orchids. This show will run until March 25th. Their 2012 Chinese Lantern Show which runs from May 26th to August 19th promises to be even more spectacular.
